10.12.2005 Apple Predictions / Wonderings / Dreams
… and the Borg Cube.
Despite being sued by Apple, thinksecret.com is all over the predictive front, per usual.
New iPods and Mac configs tomorrow. No video iPod.
Boring.
There’s got to be… just one more thing…
I had a dream lsat night that tomorrow Apple will be going on a peripheral-oriented rampage:
- a Bluetooth Mighty Mouse
- a crazy full-sized keyboard (i.e. piano, not QWERTY), with touch-sensitive/weighted keys, MIDI/USB, and additionally the Garageband breakout box capabilites that were being mused over as Asteroid.
- the Apple DvR (of course)
- a new iSight (smaller, higher res)
- a gun joystick for pistol-based games (WTF?; think NES Duck Hunt)
- a general purpose gaming joystick based on a hybrid of the PS2 dual shock and the Xbox S-type
(yeah, I know… it was a big announcement in my dream… which took place in a new flagship Apple store decorated in a Borg Cube motif… or was perhaps actually built on the Borg Cube)
- redesigned Bluetooth keyboard (since I love mine (all three of them - the two I had originally, and the one I had to buy when I dumped a beer on one of the first two), I don’t see how it could improve)
- new, ultra-streamlined high-res inkjet printer (and yes, I had a StyleWriter I, and know Apple has been in, through, and is well out of that biz, for the good of all, and that printers are not sexy… it was a dream, ok?)
- wireless, ultra-thin/light wall-hangable monitor / integrated media player (would be cool)
- some other stuff
On top of that, the dream featured Apple’s new (not-)manufacturing motif: brushed aluminum and blue neon.
So, yeah. We’ll see what happens tomorrow.

Ok, so there was a video iPod. Shocker.
Maybe Apple has acknowledged that leak-sites like thinksecret.com have a purpose, as long as the “one more thing” is kept from them. God bless / curse Steve Jobs.
I don’t always agree with this guy’s approach / politics, but he has a point here.
