Via Althouse: Instead of the short vacation your job offers, just quit.
re: the “trend” [nyt] of getting sick of your job and just punching out for a year or two or nine [althouse].
It’s rare that I view myself as participating in something the Times considers a trend… did they catch these others?:
- 30-somethings who decide they need access to any song, any time
- … to own all video game consoles of any given generation[1], while only acquiring one or two games per console
- … who determine the only way to really enjoy any series is to tivo (or bittorrent) a season’s worth, and then watch episodes in 8-10 hour blocks
I’m clearly trendier than I thought…
[1] Who wants to get left high and dry by not having all consoles available at all times?
