I’m hoping the heart-stopping screech my computer just emitted at the end of this install process was a result of some unrelated situation (ex. the 150 deg F internal temperature) as opposed to a feature of Google Desktop for OS X.

Honestly I haven’t messed with it much. It seems to offer a launcher/searcher that’s about halfway between Quicksilver and Spotlight… except it doesn’t find much. And it runs as an application.

It’s one of those things that I’ve gotten too lazy to explore myself, and I’m going to need someone to explain the precise merits. Because that’s how I roll…

    UPDATE:

I’ve since un-installed Google Desktop after finding no value. Wow.
